Daeil Kim (김대일) is a South Korean-born filmmaker based in Los Angeles.
Kim is the recipient of multiple Sundance Institute fellowships, including the 2026 Sundance Screenwriters Intensive, the 2026 Sundance Institute / Sloan Foundation Fellowship, and the 2025 Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Production Grant.
Kim's films screened at the Sundance Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival (American Pavilion), the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and AFI Fest.
Kim served as director of photography for Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino on the proof-of-concept film for Giacchino’s upcoming feature, Death Vendor.
Highlighting his skill set in storytelling, Kim has created narrative-driven commercials for Red Bull, Nike, Plaud AI, Schwarzkopf, and OpenAI.
Kim holds an MFA from USC, where he was an Annenberg fellow.
